Nicki Minaj feat. Fivio Foreign – We Go Up

Nicki Minaj returns to New York City in a pink Lamborghini in the music video for “We Go Up” with Fivio Foreign — the track she dropped last month showcasing her rap versatility and drill skills alongside the Brooklyn rapper.

“I could be all the way covered and still givin’ sexy/I know they sleepin’ on me, bitches got epilepsy,” she raps, hissing her S’s. “I don’t do coke, little bitch, I don’t even do Pepsi.”

The Drevinci-directed video splices clips of Minaj driving several luxury cars in the city, while other shots follow the queen of rap — in a pink monochromatic outfit and matching jacket — as she spits the lyrics to the track near the South Jamaica projects in Queens, which she references in the song’s lyrics. “Southside Jamaica, we mobbin’ them bricks, so pull up with them blicks,” she raps. “Some of the best shooters out of New York, they don’t play with the Knicks.”

On his verse, Foreign proclaims himself as the king of New York, alongside Minaj. “Touch my crown again, bitch,” he raps. “It’s only one king, it’s only one queen, there’s two crowns.”After sharing the video, Minaj threatened her Barbz with delaying the release of her LP if the video doesn’t perform as well as she wants it to.

“If y’all don’t do what needs to be done with the #WeGoUpVideo I will significantly and I DO mean significantly…delay the…the…the…oh what’s the word… oh! the album,” she tweeted. “That’s right. *sighs* the album *devil wears Prada Meryl Streep voice*.”

Minaj teased the song earlier in the week, sharing a video of herself rapping along to the lyrics on Instagram, while writing, “I told @bigfenditv this song is scrapped from the album & we just had a hour-long argument.”

The surprise track comes a week after she hopped on “Blick Black” by Coi Leray last week. Before then, she released two tracks with Lil Baby: “Do We Have a Problem?” and “Bussin.” Minaj has shared that she’s working on her follow-up to 2018’s Queen. She re-released her iconic Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape last year.
