Nappy Boy Entertainment is starting the year 2023 off with new single Y.O.T.A with new artist NandoSTL featuring T-Pain and Young Cash. NandoSTL is a rising artist from St. Louis who recently signed to the Atlanta mega-star T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Entertainment label. Y.O.T.A acronym for “Year of The Ape.” is an ode to Nando’s Gorilla personality.
“At home, I got a nickname called the gorilla, because of my stature and my demeanor,” he explains of the album title’s origin. “And what happened was in 2021, it was a really hard year for me. I was in between jobs for a second, I had a student loan in default, and I ended a long-term relationship.” -NandoSTL
Y.O.T.A is Nando’s first single under the Nappy Boy Entertainment imprint and his follow up to his 2018 debut EP Good Vibes. He dropped a handful of singles over the next few years, including “Cool Lil Sunday” and the critically acclaimed “Outside” (which cracked the 70,000 mark in views on YouTube alone), building his buzz locally. 2020 was a monumental year for Nando. He won five awards at St. Louis’s Underground Music Awards, including Best New Artist and Artist of the Year with his follow-up EP Bamboo in tow.
NandoSTL is slated to release his highly anticipated new project in May 2023.
