When asked about her new song, Layna Lae shares:
“Despite the name of the song, there was no concept behind the madness. I just heard the beat one day, then started creating the melody in my head and everything just came together from there. For me, music is therapy. When it comes to making music– it’s all about self expression, living in the moment, and creating something that people can relate to. As you listen to Copycat, I hope you will not only be captivated by the catchy melody and blend of hip-hop and pop elements; but also appreciate the fact that in an industry where female body parts are overly glorified, I’m different…hence the line in my song “I do what I want, not the motherf****** hype!”
