This video is encapsulating me feeling a sense of the cold reality offered to LGBTQ members from black Christian households to issues of homophobia in the world in general. I feared coming out to my parents in fear of judgment. I felt a strong sense of self hate from holding myself back from the world. I feared if I tried to come out again I’d be another target already being a black man. This song is letting go of what everybody thinks of you and continuing to push forward in the hardest times. It’s motivation to keep going.
