Los Angeles singer/rapper/songwriter Kay Franklin teams up with Problem for a music video to their latin-infused single “Ven Aqui.” Co-produced by Kay Franklin and Grammy-nominated producers Mike & Keys, the track flips the mega-popular Tik-Tok sound “Cumbia Bueno” by Grupo La Cumbia into a bouncy track with playful lyrics in Spanish and English that guarantees to get your body moving. In the Jason Madison directed music video, the two artists take a trip to the Dominican Republic to soak up the sun, ride ATVs and party with beautiful women.
“The cumbia sample was too infectious and fun for me not to add some sauce to it,” explains Kay Franklin. “Whether you want to dance or work-out or cook, it’s a good vibe and energy for anything and anyone. So vamos! baila conmigo.”
“Ven Aqui” follows Kay Franklin’s 2021 single “When The Kids Go To Sleep” featuring Dom Kennedy and his production work on Dom Kennedy’s 2021 album From the Westside With Love Three (“Deep Thought”) and with Problem and Wiz Khalifa’s cannabis inspired single “4 The Low.”

These days the West Coast artist spends his time creating records as well as writing for other prominent artists, with his most notable penning on”Rocket Science” for Joyce Wrice and the recently released “4 The Low” for Problem and Wiz Khalifa. Kay also collaborated with Dom Kennedy to produce one of the L.A. rapper’s biggest songs to date, “Deep Thought.” The song was on Dom Kennedy’s 2021 album From the Westside With Love Three.
Kay’s voice, production skills, and unique writing ability caught the attention of the legendary duo Mike & Keys as well as independent label Charter Group LLC, who eventually signed the artist after hearing about his talent around the L.A. music scene. Since signing to Charter Group LLC, Kay Franklin has released several records including “Never Made Love” and “When the Kids Go to Sleep” featuring Dom Kennedy.
