Ebony is everything. God didn’t make tables, he made trees. I believe it was our job to come down to earth and create what we have. Ebony is a tree with dark wood. Ebony Jahnae is a beautiful reflection of what god has created. I decided to walk in my god energy with my music. I express the duality of light and dark. Just like a tree’s roots and its fruitful green leaves, my project ebony mentality is the leaves of my experience growing up in Boston and moving across the country to execute my dream. Some it is raw and dark while some is light and airy. I started writing music, poetry, and books in between school years in middle school for fun.
I never pursued music because it wasn’t a praised Avenue in my house like college. I received a psychology degree and immediately looked into a different plan. After a spiritual awakening I knew I had to check in with my inner child. Once I came to California and seen an Avenue for me to play, I began to write again. Within a year of recording, I fell in love with this version of myself. Whether it’s the writing, the concept building, the relationships I’ve formed, or the ability to create an unforgettable experience, this is my calling. With gratitude and a plan, I know where I’m headed.
