BigXthaPlug – Primetime

After securing millions of streams, BigXthaPlug kicks off 2023 with new single “Primetime.” Backed by his infectious energy and a flow that’s full of braggadocio, BigX “feels like a young Deion Sanders” in his latest effort. The former athlete-turned-rapper takes on a new persona as Primetime X, reflecting on the good, the bad and the ugly parts of his rise to fame.

“Primetime” builds on the momentum of BigX’s critically-acclaimed single, “Texas,” released at the tail end of 2022 – garnering support from media outlets like Revolt TV, The Source, AllHipHop, Stereogum, and more. The track, which is named after Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, is an anthemic score that instills a hopeful, winning spirit. Plus, it includes BigX’s signature Texas drawl as he raps over an uptempo instrumental that feels as triumphant as it sounds.

On the new single, BigXthaPlug explains:

“I released ‘Feeling like Dennis’ a year ago, and at the time I felt just like Dennis Rodman when he first joined the league. He had something to prove, something to show the world, and that’s the place I was at with my music. ‘Primetime’ has a similar concept. Just like Deion ‘Primetime’ Sanders, I’m in my prime, and it’s time to create an everlasting legacy.”

Most recently, BigX sat down with XXL for their coveted The Break series, proving that he’s well on his way to becoming more than a regional star.

Armed with a sticky flow that he’s retained as part of his identity, the Dallas riser has been hard at work carving out his own lane in hip-hop. As he continues to push his career forward, BigX has already etched his name into the Best New Artist conversation thanks to his authentic storytelling and raw delivery.
