The Atlanta music scene is changing, and many people are looking for something new. Julius Caesar, also known by his stage name ACJC, is here to bring the change. ACJC, the “Eastside Shotta,” is an entrepreneur with a passion for music, art, and innovative technology. Born in California and raised in Atlanta, Ga, ACJC grew up with a strong Caribbean influence. His mother is Jamaican, and his father is Trinidadian. Since the fifth grade, ACJC has been writing music and incorporating melodies found in popular Caribbean tunes, rap, pop, and R&B. He infuses instruments heard in Reggae with the influence of southern hip-hop making new melodies, sounds, and content that can appeal to various demographics and is unique to today’s mainstream hip/hop culture. He attributes this to his musical idols: Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Vanilla Ice, M.C. Hammer, and the late Michael Jackson. His deep and raspy voice gives him a sound all his own. Many would say that ACIC is breaking into the industry and creating a lane for others. His work ethic and ability to strive as an independent artist despite all odds will make him a staple in the hip-hop community one day.
